Tomb of Kaptan-ı Derya Sinan Paşa

The monumental tomb stands at Hamza Bey Bay in Gallipoli (Gelibolu), near the military beach and its casino. Kaptan-ı Derya (Grand Admiral) Damat Sinan Paşa, son-in-law of Bayezid II, lies in this tomb together with his wife. The octagonal building is 10 metres high. It has been restored twice, and has recently undergone another restoration. Sinan Paşa served in Gallipoli as Kaptan-ı Derya. On the front of this imposing structure is an inscription, which was placed there after the building was repaired by Mehmed II.
