Tomb of Gazi Süleyman Paşa and Grave of Namık Kemal, Bolayır

They are two of the most important names in the history of the Ottoman Empire. One witnessed its beginning, the other its end. One left his mark on history through conquest, the other with his pen. Neither their lives nor their eras had anything in common, yet centuries later their graves brought them together. Both died in their forties, and they now share the same soil. The tomb at Bolayır in Gallipoli (Gelibolu) became the eternal resting place of Süleyman Paşa and Namık Kemal.
